Manarah, by Northstar Engineering Ltd. There is no account to close. Everything the app holds about you can be removed from the phone and from our server, by you, in a few taps.
In the app
- Open Manarah.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Your data.
- Tap Export transcripts and details for a text export. Save audio copies separately from each recording.
- Tap Delete everything and confirm.
That erases your recordings, transcripts and settings from the phone, and asks our server to erase the records held for your installation.
By email
Write to hello@northstarengineering.mu and ask us to delete your data. It helps to include the installation identifier shown in Settings or in your export. Because there is no account, a request we cannot link to an installation is one we cannot act on. After reinstalling, we may need the old installation identifier to locate its records. Saved recordings expire after 1 year from upload; you can request deletion sooner.
What is deleted
- Your recordings, transcripts and settings on the phone, and private recording and transcript copies on our server.
- The records held for your installation on our server, including any transcript still inside its 24 hour window. Usage counts without transcript content remain to enforce the free allowance.
- Any transcript you shared, and the page it was shared on.
Removing one archive item locally keeps its uploaded server copy until its 1 year expiry. Delete everything removes it sooner. If server deletion fails, reconnect and retry using the same installation.
What is kept, and for how long
- Temporary audio. Recovery uploads and the optional correction pass keep audio only for processing, then delete it. Unsuccessful local uploads expire after seven days and are cleared when the app next processes its queue. Delete everything also removes local recovery audio and cancels pending server work.
- A recovery transcript on the server lives at most 24 hours even if you ask for nothing, so a dropped connection can be recovered and a correction can finish.
- Payment records. Subscriptions are handled by Apple and Google, and we never see your card. Where a record of a purchase has to be kept for tax or accounting, it is kept without anything that identifies what you listened to.
